The greasy spoon of ultrarunning
The Ultra Diner is the spot folks in and around the ultrarunning and endurance community stop by. It’s a good place to meet and reconnect with folks. The novice runner, cohost, and podcast producer, Ruel Abadam, drowns in his mug, while veteran ultra runner and coach, Tony Portera, mix things up with patrons as they tap into the world of unique and interesting individuals connected to the sport over a virtual cup of coffee, while trying to avoid being stuck with the check.

Tony Portera is an attorney with a psychology degree and a run coach. He has completed about 40 hundred milers and has multiple Badwater 135 and Brazil 135 finishes.
the Novice
Ruel Abadam is an international man of mystery. No one know who he is. Turns out he’s a software quality professional and test automation engineer with business and computer information systems degrees. He ran his first 50k solo in 2012 and didn’t start participating in organized events until 2017. A back of the pack runner who has yet to get to 50 miles solo or in a race.
